How to Communicate a Company's Vision
A CEO does three things in a normal scenario…
- Sets the overall vision and strategy of the company
- communicates it to all stakeholders. Recruits, hires, and retains the very best talent for the company
- Makes sure there is always enough cash in the bank
Can a CEO think out of the ordinary, in stead of following the routine
But to initiate a journey into the company, the CEO first imbibes and internalises the vision of the company, and in turn translates the vision into action.
Communication of the vision must be translated into a story-telling format.
It must be a realistic story of a product or service that touches the basic life of a customer.
Problems & solution approach is the best story format and a way forward for CEOs to communicate the Vision of the company
How does the CEO tell the story behind the vision?
- Customer Dilemma – understand the customer plight and see if the customer is in real need of the product/service
- Opportunity – communicate the opportunity that lies between the problem and the solution
- Winning Ratio – understand if the winning margin and probability ratio are based on market need and requirement
- Economics – get to know or have the resources the meet the urgent requirement
- Strategic options – have the strategic options at hand to make product/service a success
