Many businesses start off accidentally and grow organically, but how many of them grow strategically.
While some entrepreneurs eventually or simultaneously play the role of CEOs in their companies, not all them fit the bill.
Being a CEO is simply a professional endeavour and entitlement. It is not everybody’s cup of tea. While both entrepreneurs and CEOs share lots in common, they scale apart in the way they execute their plans, goals and actions. However, one must realise that A CEO must have the spirit and mind of an entrepreneur in order to be a go-getter or get-goer.
1.A mind that thinks and acts
What sets CEOs class apart, a scale above the rest, is the way the allow their brain to think and act. It is simply a mind that thinks in boxes, plans and prioritises all the time.
It sets goals and achieves them.
Here I need to make a distinction between a fixed mindset and a growth mindset.
While most of us move around with a fixed mindset, A CEO’s mindset thinks in terms of becoming. It never indulges in events, stories and feelings. It is driven by growth mindset that focuses on data, plans and priorities. That is why, CEOs plan and prioritise everything that they do.
It is precisely because of this mindset, they develop a vision and mission of their company. This mindset sets the reason for company’s being and existence.
2. A mind that processes and progresses
CEOs par excellence are academic and strategic by nature. What do I mean that? They are readers and academicians. They develop a study culture within the organisation, that develops processes and systems in every steam and life of the company.
They focus on policies and procedures that enable the company to go thru troubled times.
They are also highly strategic people. Their strategies flow from conception of a thought to its finale – namely, execution.
3. A mind that brands and breeds
CEOs always brand their options. They think entrepreneurial. They know that once the company creates or becomes a brand, funds are an easy option.
They believe that a strong and a visual brand in place will ensure clients take notice.
As an age old saying puts, “what a man thinketh, that he may becometh”. It is a thinking mind-set that sets CEOs as highly reputed people in every organisation.
Why, at times, the CEOs themselves become brands for their clients, that enables high level of trust and lasting partnership for future.
A CEO’s mindset is not something that comes naturally for everyone, it needs to be developed by inculcating their thought and minds in our life.
The simple way to develop the mindset of a CEO, is to start working with them or at the least read their auto-biographies, biographies or their writings in journals.
A Mindset Thinking of a CEO does not come by chance, it simply comes by a choice.
